i am really liking the pantry doors more now! the "honey butter" colored walls makes them stand out! as you see...i like old coffee pots and tea pots...these are from my grandmother and my mom (cords have long since been gone!) i enjoy seeing them every morning, they make me smile :)

today is my baby girls, baby's birthday! Carisma turns one year old and is happy and healthy, and growing up so fast! she walks and waves and plays patty-cake very well. i love her personality, sometimes her mommy, when crying, and sometimes her daddy, with the grinding and attitude! lol i love Oma's girl, she gives me kisses! and nobody else wink-wink!
and thinking about the next little sweetheart to be born, due so quickly, and almost time to spell her name once and for all! lol j/k Adryann Lucille ( for now) Auntie is gonna call her "Al"

2012 the new date to write! i wonder how many times i will do it wrong?!! Resolutions are good, they can be helpfull tools, i need to make a few and do my very best to keep them going till the end of the actual year! right?

ok this starts the birthday season around my family. mid january is mild, but the end of Jan into Febuary is crazyness. but untill the new babies arrival mid april, we hit a very slow spot!

granddaughter turns one year old this week! i am totally shocked, where does the time go? faster and faster it seems to slip away!

i am trying to SKATE through the holidays. i made sure this year the stamps were here and ready to be placed on cards....even redid the address book this year. so the xmas card list in half way done, first batch in the mail today! i need more stamps...go figure huh!!!! the tree is up and lights almost done...next ornaments, gonna be selective this year...only placing the ones who speak to me (unfortunenatly they all have a story to tell me!) and each one has been in a box since last year! lol i would want to come out and shine too!

it's the time of year i think about "putting away" the treasures i want to keep safe till the hard cruel winter is over with. i have taken down the windsocks ( bad move, CJ likes them) i should just put them back till xmas season and i can put up my new snowman windsock i found on clearence! score! right? but Tony Bon Troll will visit a nice bubble-wrap filled box that will stay in the basement till next spring, anlong with the gazing ball. and btw the stand to said ball now houses a bowling ball LOL only in my world, i tell ya!fall leave have turned colors and falling to the ground rapidly...rain will make this happen even faster! rain is forcasted....oh well tiss the season...again!

i have picked most of the full grown peppers i had growing on the deck rail. they made one yummy meal that hubby loves! next year, more purple peppers pls! they are just slightly sweeter the the green, and specially to my likings :)
Sandy is the 2 year old, and Arietta(aka:curlylocks) is the 3 yr old that i took care of when daddy was in school for becoming a CNA. this is my husbands nephew's baby and older sister. they are sweeties and fun to play with! they all grow so fast, we must cherish when "sweetness" in the baby years <3

oh what fun was had this day, when it finally arrived after colds,opening gifts and finding such FUN things to play with! sometimes Oma likes to make lots of noise and have a band, other times a quiet imagineative tea party. no matter what these girls think....we have TONS-O-FUN when they come to my house! i have missed them lately, and cherish the time i get with them.
after reading one of my last posts, i realized i hadn't posted any pics from christmas gift openeing with my girls...better late then never?

i think i did good for the first time i made this cake....i haven't had alot of practice this past year, but this is the start of my families birthday season. Anthony turned 6 and the party was yesterday. the kids had a blast, the adults enjoyed watching the kids have fun! the candy poured down from the ceiling, from balloons filled and hung (ty mama Pam) from the ceiling. with aldults armed with sticks with pins attached!!!!! the party bags started out empty, but with minutes candy was being stuffed into them.
but most of all, what makes my heart swell with pride, was the birthday boy loving his cake!

this is my baby girl, who was married in september. Time passes so quickly, when we are not looking and not prepared. Marching on, heading down a path of it's own, seemingly one day at a time. Tomorrow is the day we welcome our newest granddaughter. Miss Ella will be born by C section on tuesday May 19 th. her big sister is staying with Oma and Opa for a few days. GamPA is also expected to arrive soon, and be here for the big event.
Everyone is soooo excited, but most of all MOMMY is excited and ready to be done with the pregnance.
Prayers and good wishes are always welcome and needed.

Lazy jammy days, and BALLOON-filled birthday days are always fun! It's hard to beleave the baby girl is one year old now....she walks and talks....waves and kisses....growing in leeps and bounds. I am very happy being her caretaker, and being her OMA! At her party in my home, her Grandma was calling her to her, when she walked right past her and came to me! She doesn't see that grandma very often, and was a little frightened of all the people here! But all in all it was a wonderful day, cept that opa didn't get home in time for the party....but oma's surprised worked out well! I offered to keep babygirl over night, and i am glad i did! Opa really had a blast playing with her both that night and the next morning! Breakfast was delicious, opa's pancakes and eggs, and enjoyed fully!
When mamma came to pick her up, she looked well rested (being pregnant, thats hard to do) and enjoyed seeing opa having a great time with big girl. I must start calling her my "big girl", as the baby should be here around the end of May, and she will be the baby girl then! Yes, she is having another girl, hurray!!!! I seem partial to girls....which is just my personal opinion, they are easier to raise! lol i know i will get some different opinions on that subject!!!!

But today is a happy day...just feeling fine here...and i hope all is well with you and yours. Smile...make someones day brighter!

weird weather and stuff

The weatherman was saying warm termps, but good gosh, this is just was too weird! We have had piles of snow here, and cold temps (outside was colder then a fridge!) and today it's like WET everywhere, snow melting fast! I can see the flood warnings in the very near future, just weird for Feburary in Wisconsin!

Like the new Pig? I found this for the hubbies birthday, it says "retirement fund" on the suitcase he's carring, lol it was funny, considering he has this other piggy bank, holds ALL his change and it's about five times larger then this guy! hubby got my joke! ;)

p.s. sighsssssssss he went back to work today, after 1 week vacation,stayed home, relaxed, but i do miss him already, shhh don't tell him i like having him under-foot and bugging me these days! Jade loves her OPA!

This is the way it looked a few days before christmas. the day after christmas it thunderstormed, and rained hard. the snow melted fast, and along came the flooding warnings. Since then, it has dropped the temps and froze most water solid. At least in our area it has.
It's still dec/jan right? wintertime?? hmmmm strange weather this year.

We always have fun with him. He's 3 1/2 now, and looking forward to his next birthday in may.Kids grow so dang fast! He now poses for camera shots...if asked before hand! We didnt get to drag out the Geo-Traks this past visit...but next time we will! I colored with him, he has new colored pencils, and couldn't wait to share them with me. He also loves to read and listen to books!

As for his GRANDMOTHER....well she is totally awesome! She graduated from her college classes and has a new job! WTG G/F! and the GOLD CORD was allso achieved..........applaudes loudly!!!!

i sure wish i could buy/make all the things i want to buy/make for all of my friends! This year presents will be bare, but the few that are expected, will be filled with hope and love. It is great that my girls are grown and don't expect much from Santa ;) because the sled will be very light when he lands here!
My holiday wish is to have all my children around, happy times making happy memories, that they will remember always.
I am so excited that my mom will be here for the seasons, from florida. I pray it's not freezing cold (for her sake) but maybe just a little flurry in the air....to make it seem more like christmas magic!

i think i like pink, and i love mauve, which also goes realy well with burgandy! Is there a problem with that? with me? i know i am weird....but ..."I gotta be me"!

We had our first "have to shovel" snow yesterday morning! so pretty, but so making me mad at the same time! the driveway here is HUGE! and we just can't shovel enough to get a car down, we have to shovel the entire thing! LOL sounds like gripping, but realy...i love this place! So the hubby shoveled the entire driveway yesterday morning, and when he got home from work, he went out to the garage and hooked the unit for snow up to the tractor! Now he's all set for the unexpected next snow fall! but...if it's not a measureable amount, the shovel will still have to do!

I am happy i bought my New Balance shoes that are waterproof and comfortable!!!!

Baby girl is getting very big, and it was time for a new winter hat. Auntie Kristin bought this one for her today. She's a very good Auntie! I am not so sure she likes it, but if it keeps the head warm, she will just have to learn to like it! Mommy realy liked it alot, and Grandpa had just asked about warm cloths for thanksgiving up in the north-woods!! I think this hat will work just fine! BRRRRRR baby it's cold outside....hummmmms the tune in her head...more later

it just seems to me like time is going faster and faster as i age! each day i get less and less done from my mental list! or is it that my mental list grows longer each moment?!

Next years wedding arrangments are fully underway now! The dress in white has been ordered, and seen by the parents,thank you Daddy! The hall is being researched and the list narrows down! The guest list has been rewritten and expands ever-so-slightly, as it is examined over and over! Excitement is in the air, and thoughts of debt are in the back of 2 ppls minds! Can you guess who's?

It's just LIFE going faster and faster......don't blink for too long! LOL

our new home has been crazy...to say the least!....but we are getting things straightened out nicely. Special thanks to kid-sister "T" she realy used her time here wisely,and helped me out more then she will ever know! We tried to leave dad's things in his places, but he changed all that when he passed! {love you pa} so now things needed to be gone through and dissposed of. many many out-dated things....old papers and receipts...canned foods....forgotten trinkets...tons of pictures in and out of frames! alot of books! many on health and fitness,herbs and drugs!! in fact i think each and EVERY room had at the least 6 books in it! We are still discussing where the bookcases are going! And dad's second wife Joyce, was a nurse...so add those books into the inventory!LOLOLOL ok so life is still happening around us and the focus seems to change constantly...things that make ya' go hmmmmmmmm

This morning while i was sitting out in the "three-season" room looking south onto the wooded creek area behind the house...all peacefull and birds singing squirels "talking" and nature waking up!
i can see the birdfeeder on my left hand side view...when something makes me look over to see a beautiful DOE walking along the yard. She strolls throught the yard very relaxed and comfortable-like. I start tapping on the slidding door of the livingroom so hubby would come see her....he loved seeing her walk along. and says to me..."what you like it here? or what????" with a cheesey grin on his face!!!! I LOVE THAT MAN! and i love living here! thank you Pa!!!!

vacation (sort-of) is over :(

not that it was much of a FUN vcaction, but time away from home can be considered a vacation. The trip south, flying down, was realy cool! Cat was a blast to watch and have as a companion. We did have fun laughing and people watching.Thank you g/f for sharing that time with me...i just wish things could have been better.
With only sad thought upon my mind for the next week,things were not quite FUN! The extra long ride home, wiil not happen again...if i can help it! To only start the first driving home day,with about 4 of the 19 hour trip, is CRAZY. Granted the nice dinner and relaxing evening in a wonderful Holiday Inn in Valdesto, Ga. was awesome!!!! very nice and would recomendend that again! With a second nights stay up at the Mt. Vernon, Ill. said hotel, would just be heaven!!! Spent time there last year, and realy liked the place ! This would be a realy cool trip!!! but will take some conviencing on the hubby end! LOL
But the VERY BESTEST thing about going on vacation is......
Sleeping in your own BED when you return home.

working takes alot of time away from LIFE! Althou i have enjoyed my new job sitting for Miss Jade, she and i are still getting to know each other! It didnt help that "mommy and her" time did not happen this morning! mommy had to work early! So today was her fussy-butt day! allowed by OhmaBeth to sleep in her arms and cuddle all day long! and eat constantly! i wonder if she has a tummy ache?!!

Anywho....we have sunday....aaaaaahhhhhhhh the day of rest! LOL

time to start packing for my Florida trip. fly south, drive back north,what a great vacation! and doing it this time with my G/F is wonderful. shoe choices

i sure don't want or need to buy new shoes....I love the ones i have! i am not a shoe-fettish kinda gal! I love comfortable shoes, specially after all the foot surgeries i have had! The slip on ones are nice, cept for dancing, i step backwards and step right out of them! LOL The heels are nice for dancing, but i can't walk or stand very long in them! The strappy flats are the most comfortable ones...but i don't think they are dressy enough for a wedding!
So i may just have 2 pairs of shoes for that day...is that stupid? I just don't want to buy any more shoes...i have plenty now! My daughter liked the brown heels with the strap, she says you NEED the ankle strap! Do I????

it piles up everywhere! Seems we do get alot of snow, specially this winter...oh yeah...it's spring, did someone forget to tell this to Mother Nature?! We got dumped AGAIN! Just when i was starting to like looking at brown dead grass and tiny sprouts starting to push up out of the ground! Now it's all white WET and heavy again! We must have received over a foot of snow yesterday! I don't even want to know what it did over night! It looks like another day of shoveling. Hubby broke the shovel last night, borrowed one from his Dad's house!Speaking of his Dad's house...i now offically hate his driveway! Way too long and over 2 car widths wide! And the plow driver went past at least three times, and made a huge knee-high pile at the end! I was so tired after the bad day {kid went off the road, hit trees with her P T Cruiser} But everyone is fine! Well today she may be a little sore, she did have her seatbelt on, but her air bag never went off! The cruiser needed to be towed out, but the tow truck drivers were being called off the roads...because of the continuing snow falling and bad conditions! So out i go driving 45 minutes west in very bad visability, to pick her up, and help her out! But on the way home...POOP OCCURES AGAIN....My jeep starts to overheat and we break down almost back into town. 2-3 hours for a tow, with my jeep packed full of stuff, and 2 kids who have already had a bad day. I kept my cool.......beleave it or not!

the smell of a babies skin,the smell of a formula burp,freshly washed baby cloths and a freshly washed baby, lotion, rash ointment, some good smells, some bad smells! But to hold a small one and see them looking at you, and talking to you (yes they chatter alot) it all feels so awesome and incredible and unbeleavable................and OLD!

went to bed early after a wonderful day with a baby boy,who was good as gold! Looking forward to a day filled with manybaby boys, and toddlers, and after kindergarden kids, and school kids...i just know i will feel very old and tired tonight!

Breakfast was alot of Fun! wish you could join us DeeJ! This is a nice little family place here in town. Good food,plenty of coffee, and conversations with the girlfriends. We all have different aged children,and we can all chatter about anything and everything! Now that i look at the pitures from my camera, i am missing Debbie! hmmmmmm wonder how she ducked out of the shot!?! next time Deb!

I was asked the other day if i wanted to go to breakfast with a bunch of gals. some use to work with me, and others may be friends of theirs...Heck yeah...i love to go see them all! I miss the everyday interaction with them! Even the smarty-pant one! ( she knows who she is!) But still to catch up and enjoy some chatterings, share some time and enjoy lives finner pleasures! Hangin with the G/F or as they are called now BFF's!

When i get sick.....

I don't waste any time getting sick! It usually starts with sore swollen glands in my neck, and moves into the itchy ears, along with the coughing and blowing. This time being no exception to that rule! But I didn't suffer to long this time. Because the daughter is also sick, and had made an appointment with the Dr......I called and got into her 15 min before the girl. Dr. laughed at us both coughing and hacking in one office, asking as she entered , who gave it to whom? When the truth be told, the hubby was in for a check-up last week, and she saw it starting in him, so she medicated him already! The girl and i had just seen each other, first time, in about 2 weeks!

the future SIL is on his way to see his best man in the state of Washington. John's troup came home this week from Afaganastan. His mom, sister and my boy are going to visit for 2 weeks. His mom has packed all the cookie sheets and neccesary equipment to feed the boy all his favorite things. I am sure his troup will LOVE everything she will make! The bad news is that John's son Lil Man is too sick to go with this time! He had an ear infection 2 weeks ago, and it didn't clear up! They are looking into the tubes in his ears. It's a shame he can't go with, Gramma was so excited and happy to be taking him to see his Daddy! But he will come home next month, and be able to visit with his son. And the lil man still has a ticket to use in the next year...so that means another trip for Gramma, HURRAY for her!

Life is good...enjoy each moment of it!

p.s. can you tell that my medicine has started making me feel better! Not sure how much sleep i will require today, but i will take everything i can get!

Home from the war!

The boy (almost-son-in-law) has a best friend who is serving over in Afganastan, it has been about 1 1/2 yrs since he's came home last! I have now added his mom to my list of messenger friends, and have been watching her count-down till he came home! I am so excited for her to be able to hug and see her son again! He is a very nice man, with a wonderful son, and a happy family. His mom and my boy will be flying to Washington to greet him, and spend some time there, before coming home. We are all planning a few get-togeathers while he is home.

He will also be the Best Man in the planned september 2009 wedding...YES...the date has been set! Baby girl's brain is filling with all the choices she must make, and the early planning stages. They are working on this togeather, which i am thankfull for, because it's not only HER day it's HIS day as well. I am excited and deathly scared at the same time! This will be the first of 2 weddings I have been expecting since the day my daughters were born. The youngest is my "fancy-pants" kid! She was the dressed up for nothing kid! Always matching and planning outfits, picking out cloths to buy has always taken her ALOT of time, if she could of she would have had them all! Just so she didn't have to choose something!

So...how can we pay attention to the "nervous butterflies" and not the "scared-to-death butterflies"? I may need some serious help over the next year and a half!

The snows have been very wet and heavy. We have lost alot of branches off the trees, can't wait to do a spring clean-up! But for now they must stay stuck in the snow drifts,which are way too deep in many places to get to them! I feel bad for some of these trees, it was like they were not expecting THIS MUCH SNOW! It seems to stick alot when it's being blown by the wind so hard! Like frosting covering a cake! some from top to bottom are all white and pretty,like someone wanted to decorate them! What a nice job Mother Nature did to brighten up the blah winter days!

Well pretty....till the plows make it look ugly, sloppy, and yucky! But we must try to clean the roads, right?!! Everyone must drive to where they need to be! Thats why i take pics where only wild animals seem to roam!

Monday are ok days for me, now that i don't have to go to work on monday mornings, starting a work week is depressing! sorry to those who have to !

i try and plan fun things to do all week, like...visiting a certain friend, or chatting with a sister, or just getting the house clean and the laundry done! I must say, to the latter chore, without children, the laundry loads are alot smaller! And without said children comming home to wash their laundry, life is very easy....Laundry-wise anyways! Now it can be when I want to...as I want too! Without having to feel bad because the kids might have to remove my load from the dryer...in fact....i think the load in there now has been there since last week wensday! Life changes so fast!

changing subjects now! lol I am making a new afghan for my Etsy site! I started making this certain one, for my mother in law, who's B-day is on the fourth of July!When my g/f's hubby saw it, he told me he'd love it in bright colors! So i made one for him, in bright colors. Everyone who sees this one says...you can sell that one!I do enjoy making this one, and i love how it can fit into any home/style! I am making it long enough to fit on any couch (even the sectional ones!) It never hurts to have extra blankie to wrap the toes up in! right?!

now should i tell you all ...or let you keep guessing till i finish it! Maybe I'll wait, and see if anyone checks back and asks about it?!!!!!

a peek out my back door....there are 2 bushes over on the fence line...the one near the garage is completely laying down now! the front bush looks like it is split from the center, flattening it down!

now the snow emergency has been extended till 9 pm...three more hours...watching the heavy stuff pile up!

My youngest daughter turned 23 and was asked for her hand in marriage, by her boyfriend Greg. Hubby and I are happy for them, and wish them the best life can offer.

The news came, when i stopped unannounced at my sister-friends house. She had called my house, but alas we were outside shoveling the wet heavy snow! I had missed her call, but felt the need to stop at her house, call from my cell right out front, and asked if she could refill my coffee cup! When she told me , we have lost a friend/co-worker to cancer.Thank you "L", for telling me face to face.
Our friend was a sweet gentle and kind person. I have many fond memories of her...i will miss you...May you rest in peace

I think of all these coolio things to make and sell,(or like hubby says...)"give away", but just can't seem to MAKE the time to complete the said ideas! I feel realy bad when a project sits there not finished! maybe this week will be the week to finish and sell the projects sitting around here!

i am walking on cloud nine right now...YIPPIEEEEEE...my first afghan has sold! It is one of my favorites and i so enjoyed making this one! Everyone who saw me making it asked who it was for...i would answer "for Sale"...never got a nibble! I doubted if my afghans would sell on Etsy...and by gosh...one did!
The buyer is giving it to her Aunt as a gift! I sure hope her Aunt like it!

northwoods are so pretty and peacefull, and not to mention COLD! the temps up there have been worse then here, and more snow of course! Why am i going there? I was told there is a Bowling Event happening this weekend. and a certain little Man would like to bowl for me! He has style and very good technique. Auntie Kristin found this cool bowling rug and pin set, and he is very good at bowling! And i LOVE spending time with him! His Grandma and Grandpa are fun to spend time with too!

i was over at my g/f's house the other day, when she invited me to go "shopping" in her attic/craft room! Omg! i can make tons of things up there! She has everything to craft anything with! lol I realy love the items she makes, and found one i want to sell on my first Etsy store thingy. LOL

i am hoping to seel many of her items as they are all so cool and handmade wonderfullness, right from her little fingers! Hope you enjoy them as much as i do! I guess now i will have to start writing interesting posts, so i can attract more readers huh! LOL Don't give me that much credit huh! into the warm! i am thankfull that a sister in law lives in florida! i am taking mother in law down for the Graduation of said sister from college! We are very proud of her indeed! She has overcome alot in her lifetime! WTG KIDDO!!!!!

well for the next 5 day i will be wearing capri's and t-shirts with no winter coat!!!! WOOT WOOT i am excited and hoping the weather will cooperate so we can leave! The rain/sleet yesterday has me a little worried! But off we go.........

Kandy gave me some new slippers before she moved out! Two pair actually! the others are black with Kitty cats on them! these yellow ones stay on the first floor, the black ones, on the second floor next to my bed! It's not often i need to wear them (hormoneally!!!) But when i want them....i have 2 new pairs now. I guess i am hard/tough of slippers, seems I've had several pairs for quite some time now, so they were retired to slipper heaven.
One of my g/f's loves my crazy socks! Why didn't i remember to write that down on my xmas list!?!! But i realy do like to wear socks that make a statement! I have several pair that make me giggle when i select them! (one pair look like laced up tennis shoes) BFF laughs every time i wear those to her house! I do remove my shoes when i enter her house,so that may be why i like to wear my craziest one to her house, knowing she's looking at my feet! LOL

where ice-cream cones come from!
i do feel like this year i have done alot ahead of time for myself! It will also help me be more relaxed for the holidays, and i need that big time! To realize that i will be cutting out 5 days of prep,buy,wrap,or get anything done time out of my month of December, scares me! I usually use each and every single day to try and be ready ( are we ever realy ready???) I hope i am not adrift ALONE on this here boat!

I was clearing a few emails, and came across this lovely cartoon sent to me from Willie! He knows i like snowmen/snowwomen and sent me this years ago! but now i feel it fits my mood right now! shhhhhh don't tell, but i am secretly wishing for snow here! it just makes things all pretty and white! and smells fresh and chilling! Living on lake michigan we sometimes get lake-effect snow, or have more because we are so close to the lake! don't rat me out...but now i love winter and snow! even thou i am not a "winter sports" kinda nut...i am the sit and watch it from inside kind of person! cheers with a mug'o'choco

i am a very lucky person, i get to travel at another persons expense (Fathers-in-laws are wonderful). I had the ummmm....pleasure of helping my father-in-law drive down to Sarasota Florida, he acts tough, but is sweet underneath it all! We left Wisconsin with the expected high of 39 degrees...can you say BRRRRRRRR! When we reached Florida, it was a wonderful 79 degrees...almost warm enough for me to want to go swimming in the pool outdoors! but i didn't, i refraned, and didn't want to SHOCK the old people there! The trip down is always enlightening and informative with a man who realy doesn't know me that well. Not like i just joined the family or anything, married for 27 years now!, but he is learning i am not such a bad person after all. And there is a good reason his son pick me and held on to me so tight! (oops does that sound conceited?...it's not suppose to be) He was mis-informed many years ago, by another family member! But now i think he likes me for who i am!
ok on with it already.....driving isn't the problem, it's getting him to stop and not push it so hard! A person can only take so much sitting down in a car! We thinks because we make good time, we should continue and get as far as we can get in one day...even if this means there are no rooms left to stay the night! Calling ahead doesn't do any good either, i tried that! But walking in at just the right time, to get a cancellation, and snatch the room up...even if it means sharing a room and sleeping on a roll-away bed.It does pay to be short to sleep on one of those things! that night was saved, and peacefull sleep was had by both occupants, with a joke of " i slept with your Dad honey" and got quite a laugh from the hubby!But the best part about leaving home, is getting back!
